How should i get my nails done for christmas?

my nails can grow pretty long and i just wanted to see it theres anything i can do besides just a french manicure....or adding somehting to a french......im 15 if that changes anythingHow should i get my nails done for christmas?
Go to a nail salaon and get little gingerbread men on them :)

festive. How should i get my nails done for christmas?
red or a green color or christmas decoration that would be cute
How did you get your nails done for Easter?
Does it really matter?
Hmmm... Go for black polish, and do red flowers like poinsettas. It will be striking, very pretty.
1. I think you should get a light blue base and tell the salon to paint whit snowflakes with a jewel in the middle of the snow flake.

2. YOu can paint your nails red with green tips or the other way around with antoher coat of clear glitters
I am fifteen too. I would go get my nails done and ask for christmas tree with red background or for green background with gingerbread men. Merry Christmas by the way!!!!
You would not be around the food at that time but talking O.K.
I would get a french manicure then get it air brushed with an angel or christmas tree design!
get it decorated w/ red green and white :]
frecnch manicure with rad sparkling tips cause SO CUTE
well, there are a LOT of other designs that you can have done (aside from the french). I wouldn't want anything too corny (anything christmasy) but you can coordinate with your outfit (color wise) and check out other design options online.

If you prefer the french, you can add little rhinestones on the side or make the traditional french design but instead of a horizontal line, paint the line in a V shape and add rhinestones.
you should get acrylics. on one hand the tips should be red and on the other, the tips should be green.

=]]]]
The nice thing about the french look is that it is classic and will always go with whatever you are wearing. The new thing that I've seen with nails are the tips are now in colors, black and red have been very popular.
well like christmas colors do stripes or polka dots or make a french manicure with christmas colors do something fun and kewl looking like mayeb a snowman if u can or soem snowflakes
yea i always get myne done with christmas money i get !!!!!!
How about some nail art, Try your local beauty salon for some advice.
I like French manicures done with a color that isn't white.

For holidays, I use a darker red. Just ask for the tips to be a different color but remember to keep a neutral base.

It's always a good change without being over powering.

Happy holidays. =]
green and red with a little white sounds good
get 2 christmas colours and put one colour one your thumb then the second on the next finger then keep going on like that
I think you should get a french mani. But instead of white and pink you should paint them red and get the tips green. :D
first paint them red. then with a tooth pick carefully make little green and or silver dots. cute or find some little stickers
Frenched tipped with silver sparkles
you could get gel or arcylic nails, they look nice and last a long time
Have a little white star the top.

On the bottom put like an oasis with a camel.

Kind of the Star of Bethlehem thing

or

Snoflakes
Red and Green!!! Xmas colors!!!:) idk u can get little candy canes on your nails idk just throwin out ideas

Red with green pin stripes!

What's the better christmas gift, a pig's heart with a nail though it or a hot dog shaped coffin?

say you really want this christmas to be specialWhat's the better christmas gift, a pig's heart with a nail though it or a hot dog shaped coffin?
Who traumatized you ? I wanna speak to that person !!!What's the better christmas gift, a pig's heart with a nail though it or a hot dog shaped coffin?
lol, Omg, that's the most creative and humorous Christmas gifts ever! thanks for sharing your brilliant idea.

Christmas-y acrylic nail ideas ?

I want to go get my nails done and get acrylics. I want them to be Christmas-y. But I've only gotten them done once and it was french tip, so idk what to do to make them Christmas-y.

Give me some ideas ! ;DChristmas-y acrylic nail ideas ?
There are some places where they can paint your nails as pictures in a way. Like for example you want a Christmas tree, the would paint your nail with a coloured coat of your choice, then they would paint a small Christmas tree on your nail, then cover that paint, once dried, with a clear coat. =]

It looks pretty cool.Christmas-y acrylic nail ideas ?
you can ask for a christmas tree or a snowman

most places know how to do that.

it looks really cute :)
try getting red French tips with a snow flake in the corner and a gold or silver sparkle line underneath iv done it before it looks adorable!

Are fake nails worth it? I am thinking of having mine done in time for Christmas.?

They are really great................however, be sure you realize that every two weeks or so you will have to go back to have them filled. And then after several weeks, they have to be taken off, and replaced with new ones. It all counts up to a lot of money, but they do look nice, especially the ones that look like a French manicure. Are fake nails worth it? I am thinking of having mine done in time for Christmas.?
Go for it girl!! Only advice is you go somewhere that has a good reputation, better if recommended to you!

There's lots of places doing nail extensions on the cheap and there is usually a very good reason why they are cheap!! You don't want to be sacrificing your own nails by having cheap acrylic/gel applied! Are fake nails worth it? I am thinking of having mine done in time for Christmas.?
I'll tell you what I tell my teenage daughters....grow your own!

Acrylic nails use super glue to bond the tips to your fingernails, after they sand off the top layer of your natural nail to make it bond better, then a cyanocrynylate powder (super glue) blend to fill in the remaining area. Getting them off requires either peeling or popping them off, which is damaging to your nail bed, or soaking in acetone, also damaging to your own nails. If you choose to keep them, look at 15-20 dollars every 10 days to two weeks to keep getting them filled in. Then you're running the risk of contracting fungus underneath them which can permanantly damage or discolor your nail bed.

Hope this helps.
they look very elegant and classy so they are worth it. But you have to get them removed when they start growing out because they then look really ugly. You can't remove them yourself because it's too painful and the glue would leave residue. I actually bit my thumb with fake nail once and the nail cracked, i was in agony! And it's so annoying trying to pick things like a penny up from a flat surface with those nails in the way. Don't mean to put you off though, they're very pretty.
No, i cant stand women with fake nails... its rediculous, seriously. Instead of spending that money on yourself, try donating it or buying something this xmas for a homeless person or someone who needs something more than you do, that feeling will last a lifetime not a month like those nasty plastic nails.
They look really nice as your having them done and when they are on but as they fall off they rip your natural nail and cause them to thin break and flake, unless afterwards you have the time to do the repair treatment keeping them painted and making sure the polish doesn't chip file them twice a day rub a special hand cream which strengthens them i would say just paint them a nice colour and shape them. I used to wear fake nails a lot but then after i stopped for a while i realised how badly damaged my natural nails were and it took the a year and a half to grow back even remotely strong and healthy.
Don't. They destroy your nails. Get a good manicure instead and ask for a diamond top coat so that it lasts the holiday period. I had fake nails about 7 years ago, and after taking them off it took almost three years for my nails to come back to their orginal natural state.
well kinda.

i did mines for important events.

but for christmas i would totally do it.

but the bad thing for me was that i played sports,

and it always got in the way.

so you can get them done and then let them take it off for you too.!!

hope that helped.

:]]
They are worth it, but if you don't want to spend that much, just get the glue on ones. To get them off, soak your nails in hot water when you are ready, thats what I do and it comes off without damaging the nail.
im not one for anything fake on the body, so i would have to say no. i dont think they are worth the upkeep and cost more than they should. i would suggest keeping your hands in beautiful shape and letting your natural beauty be the focus.
it depends if you are ready for the upkeep, you have to pay to do them every 2 weeks to get them filled. ive had acrylic nails for almost 3 years and i love them. they make my real nails stronger.

and they look so classy and elegant. i would say go for it !
I had tips for a year and a half. Then, in making budget cuts, I cut out that luxury. My nails underneath are now very thin and break off all the time. I wouldn't do it unless you can keep on going...
I love my acrylic nails so i would say yes it is totally worth it. You can always try them and if you don't like them take them off and never do it again.
well, go to a manicure place. the ones there will stay on. But if you have contacts don't get them! they are too complacatied to get out. Or if you have contacts, get a smaller size for your nails.
No! I used to have mine done all the time in my late teens. Wish now that I would have used the money in a savings account.
I think they're worth it. Even if you get a simple french tip, it'll look really nice for the holidays because they'll go with any nice outfit you're going to wear.
Fake nails look good and everything, but they hurt your nails. They actually damage you finger nail with the glue and all. So i think it is better just to get no fake nails
do a nice manicure if your going to spend the money because at least with that you are still using your real nail and when christmas is over your not gnawing them off ... and they still look good
Sure they look nice and last awhile you can go with getting them filled every 3 weeks or so!

Go for it!
no there not they tend to fall of or break, so its not worth it they just use your money up, and anyways who wants to be fake
I had them for 5 years and they wreck your nails , they look lovely but very expensive for just a couple of weeks .
do the ones at the salon... a little more expensive but last longer and look betterr! i think its worth itt!
i think it will look good, except if u had to help around to cook xmas dinner.
no way. they are SOOO gross. seriously

I `m thinking about getting my nails done for christmas but every time i get them done take them off . s.o.s?

Learn a foreign language and it will get done right.I `m thinking about getting my nails done for christmas but every time i get them done take them off . s.o.s?
uhhhhhhh..... idkI `m thinking about getting my nails done for christmas but every time i get them done take them off . s.o.s?
I love Solar Nails with the pearl colored tips. They look more natural to me. My best friend just gets a layer of acrylic brushed over her real nails without a tip and paints that, it doesn't damage her real nails like the full on acrylic set does.
Yeah that happens sometimes, do you bit your nails?? Try this time to not put them near your mouth at all.... everytime you want to bite just think of something else.... this will help you keep them on longer, then by the time they are ready to come off your real nails would have grown a little so you can start growing real nails.
DON'T DO IT.... your nails are left brittle and cracked.
Get a do it yourself kit with the plastic nails from the store. They are temporary anyway, and wont do as much damage to your nails. They cost about $6 too, and you will have to paint them yourself, but overall its a better deal for a temporary time...

Is there any way of doing it before christmasI need my nails longer by christmas?
Fake Nails.I need my nails longer by christmas?
You can buy special nail growth formula. It's looks like a clear nail polish, and it has nutrients in it to make them grow pretty quickly. They're not too expensive (maybe $4 - $7) and you find them in the nail care section at any store.

    Hope this helps :)
Well i heard if u take a E vitamin ( the ones that are gel pills not solid) and cut it in half and rub it on your nails, it will grow longer.

What colour should i paint my nails? other than christmas colours?

    berry colors are in.

    and also the grayish tones

or you can just do french tips. it never gets old!!What colour should i paint my nails? other than christmas colours?
For something classy%26amp;timeless go with French or light pink (Essie brand Spaghetti strap)

Berry colors are in style now (Essie brand Berry hard is so cute!)

And gold is very popular and Christmasy! What colour should i paint my nails? other than christmas colours?
silver! silver is really in right now. so are sparkles. silver sparkles would be so glam. I am currently sporting a creatio of my own. its 3 parts silver 1 part sparkly pink.
Paint them gold with red tips, like a French mani with red instead of white and gold instead of pink.
Since it's winter you should go for more dark tones. A nice dark berry color would be very pretty.
    Black

    or

    Neon Orange.

    ew no you should not..
    lmao no way

Since it's coming up to Christmas...What sort of wood was Christ nailed to?

Was it oak, beech, cedar, sycamore, etc, what was it?

Depending on wether or not some too easily offended moron gets this question deleted, I may ask what ratio of carbon to iron was in the metal in the nails at a later date...Since it's coming up to Christmas...What sort of wood was Christ nailed to?
A microscopic examination of the fragments of the Cross scattered through the world in the form of relics reveals the fact that it was made from a pine-tree.I don't know about the nails.Since it's coming up to Christmas...What sort of wood was Christ nailed to?
    its called the christmas wood!!

    from the christmas tree!!!

    LOL
chances are it would have been cedar, light tough n easily workable.

as for nails they'd probably have been copper, not go rusty when bled on!!
    planks x2
Are you mixing up Christmas with Easter?
he was born on christmas....he died on passover....and was reserected (sp?) on easter!

(it says the kind of wood he was nailed to in the bible)
    OOOUUUUUCCHHHH !

    M : 0
the wood was probably from a local tree, possibly Acacia (mesquite) 0r Zizyphus (Jujube)which grows well in that area.
    Could have been:

Pine as mentioned above, though there are enough relics to build a skyscraper from the cross fragments

Cedars from Lebanon - though probably too costly

Olive - gotta do something with the old trees that don't produce fruit

    Fig - see above

Sycamores were common - Story of Zaccheus

Gopher wood - don't know what that is, but it was used in the Tabernacle articles... so there's a connection.

Probably wasn't a whole lot of carbon in the nails... steel came around about 1,000 years later.

And no, it doesn't mention the wood of the cross in the Bible.
I am not sure what kind of wood it was but I think it was angry because they say it was cross. Wood with bad attitude if you will.
err...you need to wait until Easter for this question - don't you?
I don't know and as most of the relics are known fakes we can hardly go by that

So being left with speculation here are a few suggestions.

    Judas Tree

Gallows Tree (doesnt give a clue to type of wood lol)

    Cross Tree

    Blackthorn

    GanTry (it's pronounced ';Gan-Tree';)

I can tell you for sure it wasn't any kind of Palm Tree (they are just too darn heavy woulda taken half a legion to carry the thing!)
I think you could only know that for sure if you were around at the time! I think it may have been a fine grained wood from an Acacia tree .
Easter is when they celebrate the crucifixtion and resurrection

Christmas is his birth. A better question would be, what kind of wood was the manger made of.

The Old testament says ';cursed is he who hangs on a tree';. It probably wasn't a ';cross';, so much as a ';pole';.

    The best research suggests pine.

How can i do my nails for christmas ?

i make gel nails :)How can i do my nails for christmas ?
Red with white tips :-) i think it would look good! How can i do my nails for christmas ?
paint them light blue and put a white snowflake on them with a small white nail art brush. Its cuuuuuute!

and if you cant do nail art, just paint them and go to an oriental nail shop, they do great nail art (usually lol)
    I love acrylics :]

i would do a french and keep the top part white and on the tips do alot of green and red horizintal lines
how about adding glitter to just the tips of your nail, don't forget to add a clear top coat to make it last
    french manicure
oooh paint them green and red. duh. %26lt;333 i love christmas.

I am looking to buy makeup for my neice for Christmas. She is 13 1/2 years old and loves to paint her nails?

She also likes eye liners. What kinds of colors are good for a 13 year old as far as nails go. I know black is kinda in, any other makeup ideas for teens??I am looking to buy makeup for my neice for Christmas. She is 13 1/2 years old and loves to paint her nails?
I think if she enjoys doing her nails, she'd LOVE a kit of nail art she can do at home, there's many nail 'tattoos' available, they go on like a temporary tattoo would, just on the nail instead of the skin and then she'll topcoat with a clear polish to keep it from being damaged. I *adored* those when I was her age...hell...even now I love them haha =o)

eBay is awesome for these because there's SO much choice all in one place, they'll arrive quick also because they come in just an envelope and they're pretty nice for cost because they'll be cheap on their own and then a very small shipping rate since they weigh nothing at all!

You'll also find beading kits where she can glue on small rhinestones and tiny flowers and all that good, creative, fun stuff! When you're on there, search ';nail art'; and you'll get a billion results but it won't take long at all to find tons of stuff she'll have lots of fun using. Lots of sellers have bunches of diff things they sell, so look around and get the best deal by combining on shipping to get everything you want from the one seller.

Hope that helps! =o)I am looking to buy makeup for my neice for Christmas. She is 13 1/2 years old and loves to paint her nails?
First of all, make sure it's OK with her parents for you to buy her makeup. I know that my mom wouldn't really have liked me wearing eyeliner and stuff when I was 13. Some parents are stricter than others about that sort of thing.

Nail polish is a great idea, though, and they have the cutest little assortments of mini-bottles of OPI nail polish at beauty stores like Ulta. I know the kids like the black nail polish, but I think it's a little goth, personally. How about some fun bright colors, like hot pink and purple? Since that whole retro 80's look is back in again, I see a lot of kids soprting bright neon colors. Neon yellows, oranges, and greens would be fun for toenails, too.

If you're still not sure, how about just getting her a gift card to MAC or Sephora so she can pick out the makeup she likes best? It's so hard to choose something that personal for someone else. Have a great day. Happy holidays!
Any of the nutural colors for make up is good. I worked at Merle Norman for a lil while. When girls that age would come in we would but naturl colors on them.. Or you can even go the pink, lavender eyeshadow than just put a brown or gray eye liner... It works well with that age... What you could even do is if you have a cosmetic stand in your area like Merle Norman... they will do a free make over and You could take her there and get her a couple eye shadows and eye lineers.

As far as nail polish... Any color is good for that...

Good Luck and have a nice Christmas. :)
I'd say use tinted moisturizer no blush a light simple colored gloss also very very simple colored eyeshadow if any no black nail polish please she is 13 try metallic colors instead and she'll look fabulous in her own own young age but i don't think she needs make up to be beautiful she probabaly beautiful just the way she is
that's so sweet. my aunts always bought me pantyhose or some random strange thing. I think you should get her some nail art brushes and some kind of a kit with multiple nail colors. some examples on the bottom - you might try looking at an arts and crafts store.

hi there, have my boyfriend's leaving do Fri night. I've got a black dress, well, it's silver with a black lace/netting on top so predominately black with black heels and a silver clutch bag. I wanted a colour for my finger nails that would add a bit of colour. I know silver is the obvious choice but didn't know whether there was any colour i'd missed that would be suitable for a posh christmas do? Bright corally red - really Christmassy too! And match your lippy - fab!

Should I get fake nails for Christmas?

So, I was thinking of getting fake nails for xmas because I have nasty nails and I want to look nice, if I do proceed, it would be my first time.

So, how do I get them off and how long do they last? Also, do they come off easily, like when I'm asleep?

Thanks for all your help and answers! :DShould I get fake nails for Christmas?
if you get cheap ones then they won't last very long and they will come off pretty easily

but if you get the nicer ones that actually glue on and all that then they are pretty durable and you could have them up to a month, watch out though because fake nails can do a lot of damage to your actual nails and read how to take them off because it isn't always pleasant

fake nails will make your nails look pretty though so i think its a good idea, just make sure you get good quality onesShould I get fake nails for Christmas?
I recommend acrylic nails versus the glue-on nails. Acrylics definitely have their downsides, but they look and feel more natural; not to mention, they are more durable and can withstand more of the daily abuse we subject our hands and fingernails to.

I am actually getting acrylics done tomorrow for Christmas. I have a regular place or two I go to, and they charge about $25, plus fees for any other ';special'; things I get done, like designs.

    Good luck!
depends what nails you want...the acrilyc ones are around

$50 at a professional place and they look pretty for a couple of weeks maybe around days but then it grows out and looks really bad and tacky so u either get them refilled and that costs money or there another choice just the gels and thats on ur actual nail doing french but as u mentioned u have nasty nails im guessing you want the acrilyc ones.. ive got them done a couple of times it feels natural but i guess if ur used to it. but when u get them off ur nails feel really weak and soft. or either you get it professionaly taken off which costs money aswell. or you can get the ones from priceline which only stay for a bout 2 days. the priceline ones come off easily whereas the professional ones feel natural and keeps on for days and days!
I got some last year and I HATED them. I couldn't even type on the keyboard, and they hurt so bad because they kept getting bent. Then they started cracking and lifting up, and I had parts of my real nails that got tore off from them. They weren't cheap either and were done 'professionally' ... what a ripoff. They were gel nails and cost me $65.

I'm never getting them again. Instead I get a french manicure on my real nails. I let them grow out and then go get them done... a lot easier.
If you go to a professional nail salon, they will no a nice job for about $20 or so (depending where you are).

The nails last about a couple of weeks and you can always go back to the salon and have it removed. And no, they won't come off when you sleep.
they last up to 4 days but when u like scratch your hair or something it falls off and its embarrassing! there pretty and stuff but the glue is really hard to get off your nails they break really easily when u sleep they dont fall off sometimes

Do you have your nails done/painted for Christmas?

If so what color?Do you have your nails done/painted for Christmas?
I painted my nails 2 days ago ; french tipped (white base, hot pink tips) but not for Christamas...I was bored and wanted to try it...

who notices them... remember you dont have to spend a fortune to enjoy your self at Christmas...

think of any other games with toe nail clippings...?Why not put toe nail clippings in the bombay mix this Christmas.. then give a prize to the first person ....?
Eww. Glad I'm not spending Christmas at your house! (LOL)

You could use them in a collage. Why not put toe nail clippings in the bombay mix this Christmas.. then give a prize to the first person ....?
when I was a kid I used to bite my toe nails and chew them.to be honest I still chew my toe nail clipping but they taste a bit funky.try squeezing the zits on your back then smell under your nails ,now that smells a bit.not as bad as fart impregnated underpants though.I could go on all night.
    Thats nasty!!
A classmate of mine at my old school did that with colored stapelers. ^_^
    How about taking a whole bunch of toe nail clippings and arrange them on a glue mouse trap in such a way to create an image of a human head. Then frame it, hang it on the wall and call it ';Toe Head.';
    awesome
OK that might be a fun game as long as no one takes a handful before noticing the nail clippings.
    No thanks
well thats not disturbing or anything like that...
what a great idea! now I know how to entertain the grandchildren this xmas....thanks

Did anyone else purchase nail polis from the OPI Toybox Christmas collection?

I bought the ';Play 'Till Midnight'; and I feel ripped off. It's supposed to be a dark cornflower blue with a hint of sparkle, but it looks dark purple no matter what light.

I had the same problem. Don't worry, you are not the only one. Ha ha. And I went back to the store because I thought I was crazy, but fortunately I got my money back.

Do salespeople normally paint their nails in luxuriant christmas wrapping styles this time of year?

How far do YOU go? :-)Do salespeople normally paint their nails in luxuriant christmas wrapping styles this time of year?
some do some don't. I probably would if I knew how to paint nails. That has never been my specialty. I wear antlers. Sorry if that seems tacky. I am showing my Christmas spirit some how.Do salespeople normally paint their nails in luxuriant christmas wrapping styles this time of year?
I worked at a retail store one Christmas and I had fake nails so I got little Christmas Trees painted on a couple of my nails.
Why would only salespeople do it? It's up to the individual.
I know a lot of people who ';skimp out'; on that kind of thing. I've tried myself but I find it to be too exciting. I know a few friends who use bright chrome nail polish so that it actually looks like wrapping paper, and it looks gorgeous!
its up to the individual, sales staff or not

How to put up christmas lights on outside paneling of house without using nails or staples?? any idea?

The outside of my house is Paneling so there is no wood to hammer in nails or even staples. I want to put the lights around my windows so how do i do this? Is there any kind of tape for the outside that snow or rain wont ruin? How to put up christmas lights on outside paneling of house without using nails or staples?? any idea?
Are your windows flush with the paneling? If not, then you should be able to buy clips that will clip onto the sides of the windows. Go to any store that sells lights to find them. If not, you can put the lights on the inside of your windows, where people will still be able to see them from the outside. How to put up christmas lights on outside paneling of house without using nails or staples?? any idea?
Do you mean vinyl? If it is you can buy clips, 0---0, like that, they fold around the wire and a small screw will go in through both holes into the siding. If it's something that won't hold a screw, there are some excellent caulking products you could use to 'glue' the wire on around the window. For either the clips or caulking go to a Good building centre with knowledgeable staff ( Home Depot or Rona will Not help, you want career oriented help here, not min. wage staff) There is a company making PL Premium, I know they are good for interior, recently heard they released some exterior caulks, might be the answer you need. And tape, if you found something claiming to work, it would be a short term gimmick. I've worked on home exteriors since '96, I've never seen any tape that even claims to stand up to the elements.
There isn't any kind of tape that would be successful for this. Yes, there is tape that will hold up the lights, though it doesn't work so well in cold weather, but you'd have to use so much that you'll have tape all over your siding and it'll be VERY hard to get it off later. Poor idea. If you have gutters, they'd be the best place to hang lights from.
You didn't mention whether your house has gutters or not. If it does, there are plastic clips that can be used to hang lights from on the gutters and they can be picked up at Wal Mart, Home Depot, or Lowe's. I hope that helps.

I just got my nails done like a few days ago for the holidays-

I did a deep red, and on all my fingers except my thumb, she did silver snowflakes, and on the thumb a little snowman and an ornament.

I don't know if that is your definetion of tacky, but... lol
try a dark red color. that would look really nice for the holidays.

This link here has 25 types of clips...some attach to the shingle edges..some attach to the gutters..and some are designed for multi purpose and has all applications...you do not need to order them online..any store that has christmas decorations has them

http://www.noveltylights.com/clips.htmWhats the best way to hang christmas lights without actually nailing anything into the roof?
Lights on your roof are not safe.

For putting up lights, I'll use a hook to hang off the gutters or for railings, I use the plastic strips that come straight and you stick the narrow end into the other end and it click locks. Not sure the right name of them, but they work good and you can just snip them when it's time for the lights to come down.Whats the best way to hang christmas lights without actually nailing anything into the roof?
Grab a baggie of cable ties at Radio Shack. They are plastic strips that clip closed. You can string the lines and hold them to the gutters, to any pipes sticking up, etc.

To remove them, just clip them with a nail clipper or a pair of scissors.

    - Stuart
tiny clamps, like those used to hold papers together in an office, will clip to your shingles without causing damage. Worth a try if you can't find a better alternative.
the plastic clamps you can find at any store that sells decorations.
They sell plastic clamps for that purpose... It should be near the christmas lights at most stores.
theres like this one thing i thinked called sticky putty id try it.

Paint it either all red or all green, then put a plaid pattern over it. (So if your nail was all green, make red plaid, or if it was All red, then make it a green plaid). Add a little something to it, maybe sparkles to make it look like snowflakes!! And those little stick on stickers for your nails.... like a gingerbread or christmas tree.

    Or

Paint your nails Random shades of green and red

    Hope I helped!!! :)))
I think it would look SUPER cute if you..

Painted your nails black, indigo or dark blue, and put some yellow or silver stars on them!

    Or for something more christmasey..

You could just go with red and green

You could use little nail stencils in christmas patterns and paint your nails a solid gold colour, and then use green and red to colour in the stencils.

    Use christmas themed nail stickers!

    And my favourite..

Paint your nails, a christmasey colour and add glitter!! Pretty!!

Or paint your nails a solid colour and either use glitter, or glitter nail polish to add stripes, and spots and swirls, so they will look like christmas ornaments !

    Merry christmas! :)
    paint your nails red,

    put diamondlike circe jewels

alongside your cuticles on your thumbs.

and then on each fingernail, get green nailpolish

and make about four small circular dots on

the left side for the right hand,

and on the right side for the left hand.

    or, paint your nails skyblue;

and then put tiny little snowflakes

alongside the white part on the tip of

    your fingernails
Sounds like fun, I love doing nails. I would say you should do you're nails french (french polish set can be bought at your local drug store), then if you need help doing the french they have stickers to help you with the line of the french so it isn't sloppy. Then I would add some red and green gem stickers under the french line. Very affordable probably won't cost you more than 10 bucks!

    Hope this helped, Happy Holidays!
Paint your nails green, white, or with clear polish, then use red to put a line at the top of each nail, kind of like a french manicure. Always paint nails over again with clear polish when it dries to make it last longer and not chip.

    Happy holidays! ;D

How do you draw christmas trees on your nails ?

If you don't want a professional to do it, and don't want stickers, then draw a straight line in the color you want the tree. Then slowly make lines that point at the end downward, keep them close, when you make a line, make the one below it a little longer, practice on a peice of paper first until you feel comfortable doing it yourself. if you want to add ornaments just take a few different colors, a toothpick and dot the colors on the tree with the toothpick! You have a christmas tree! How do you draw christmas trees on your nails ?
Very slowly and carefully, or have a professional do it. You can probably buy nail stickers of Christmas trees. Sounds cute!!How do you draw christmas trees on your nails ?
a peraon at a salon will do that for you.
Go to the nails shop which helps you to draw.
The way I do it is to start by painting a green triangle near the free edge of the nail and having the apex reach about half way up the nail. I continue to make smaller triangles that overlap the previous ones, add a little red pot underneath the tree, then use different colored round rhinestones as ornaments. A couple coats of top coat and all done.

I want to grow my nails out for Christmas (which is in a month). What can I do to speed up the growth?

my nails are very short because i bite them alot. go to a drugstore and look for a nail polish made from sally hansen. its in a gold bottle. you can trust it.I want to grow my nails out for Christmas (which is in a month). What can I do to speed up the growth?
Take prenatal vitamins, I know it sounds weird, but when I was pregnant my nails were very long and very strong, and they seemed to grow faster. I take a regular multivitamin now that I am not pregnant and my nails are not as nice, prenatal vitamins have a good mixture of supplements to help your nails grow. You can buy prenatal vitamins at Wal-Mart for $5.00 for 100 count bottle right next to all the other multivitamins. Also put a clear top coat on your nails to help keep them from chipping and breaking. And if you just can't seem to get your nails to grow the length you want them you can always put on fake french manicure nails (also purchased at Wal-Mart for about $5) you can't tell the difference between salon acrylic nails and these ones.I want to grow my nails out for Christmas (which is in a month). What can I do to speed up the growth?
i heard jellomakes ur nails grow and it dose because i have long nails make sure u dont bite them and put 3 coats of growing finger nail polish on every day and make asure u buy the highest growing finger polish because it is the best always good luck
Stop picking at them and stop biting them then put 3 coats of clear nail polish on them and keep the ragged edges filed
Try OPI Nail Envy. Nothing really speed up nail growth but this stuff is good for strength. I find that I always need to file my nails down because they're getting too long.
~ file them into a square shape, it'll make them more durable and use polish or clear to strengthen! trust me i got talons! ~
    Gelatin capsules with calcium.
    take calcium suppliments
I would suggest eating more foods that are high in protein and vitamins. These will make your nails stronger, and when your nails are stronger, they will, like your hair, grow faster because they won't break off.
I have heard that if you break open a liquid capsule of vitamin E and rub into them that will help. Never tried it though.

do white tips with a thin strip of gold, green or red glitter nail polish!Any cute ideas to do my nails for christmas?
You could always paint your nails with a clear base coat polish, let it dry, then with just the very tip of the brush, make red, green, and white dots (or any combination such as red/green, red/white, white/green), again, let it dry, and brush on a clear top coat to keep from chipping. Very easy to do!
right now I have a red with which I told her to put gold polish on. It looks really pretty. I would also do a navy green with a snowflake or a candy cane( candy cane/snowflake would be silver and white) in the corner of your thumb. Use a tooth pick for the small details.

Dont forget to go to sephora and get them mini polishs they are the perfect size. Also you should get bothe the brilliant toip coat and the nail strengthening polish, they both work great. oh and for your additional detail i think thats a bit weird, think realistic it is pretty hard to do that. Instead you could have a french then do a light coat of silver over your whole nail. On your thumb put a few red dots together and a green leaf thing sticking out oif them, it could be some type of x mas berry.... Holly?

    anyway i hope this helps!

french tips (which is a white tip accross the top of your fingernail) then a light pink over it,, but so it doesn't cover up the white. or you could paint it underneath so on your whole fingernail first. but most people paint the top white, then a light pink to add some pretty color. then a clear coat or two to protect it so it stays on for a while.

  • My mother keeps talking about wanting a nail gun to do diy home fixing, so i want to get her one for christmas?

i looked it up on the home depot website and there are like 50 different types/brands/prices. what should i look for? how do i start? thanks!!My mother keeps talking about wanting a nail gun to do diy home fixing, so i want to get her one for christmas?
Most inexpensive nail guns will require an air compressor (about $200 for a small Porta Cable)

I have several nail guns and most are from Harbor Freight and work great and cost about $30 each. For small stuff I have an 18ga brad nailer (do not get the combo brad/staple model as it makes too big a dent when using just brads) and an 18ga staple gun. For really thin trim and small light stuff I use a 23ga pin nailer. For house trim and bigger projects I have a 16ga trim nailer. I also have a 10ga framing nailer (that was $95) for building... well, buildings.

So start her out with brad, staple and trim nailers from Harbor Freight and a compressor (not from Harbor Freight or Sears as these do not hold up well). My mother keeps talking about wanting a nail gun to do diy home fixing, so i want to get her one for christmas?
My husband and I love our nail gun. It really is very nice for our DIY projects around the house. Ours works off a compressor that we also use for other things. It holds a variety of sized nails but all are fairly slim. Go to Home Depot or the like and ask the guy back in tools which he would recommend for your Mom. They'll be your best bet.
What is she going to nail?

You would need a nailer (and corresponding compressor) sized for the job.

Most likely, she would want what is called a brad nailer, which is good for trim and small wood projects. You can get a compressor/nailer kit on sale rather reasonable.
How handy is your mother? And how strong is she? You'll want to make sure that the nail gun will fit her hands and suit what she wants to do with it.

If all else fails, talk with someone at Home Depot about you want: The clerk should be able to help you.

    Good luck!

    Christmas and holiday nail ideas?

I need ideas for holiday nails. The nail polish colors that i have are red, green, gold, white, metallic light blue, and sparkles. Please help, and be creative.Christmas and holiday nail ideas?
im a fan of just plain. use a deep red with a shine/sparkle TO the color. not on or huge chunks in it. its classy.

if you absolutely need to do something. maybe take the white and sparkles and make a few snowflakes. i wouldn't do anything too major or much, itll look tacky.

    X3Christmas and holiday nail ideas?
You could try something really creative!

Paint your nails white and give yourself red tips. (Like a french manicure) Or you could use green. Or you could alternate for a super cute look (:

Then, go over it with sparkles %26amp; you're set and festive!

Or you could paint them white and make gold, green and red stripes, and go over that with sparkles.

I wouldn't suggest plain green or gold because that's tacky.

If you can do snowflakes, paint your nails light blue and using a toothpick, draw white snowflakes and top with glitter. If you can't, see if you can get someone to draw them for you!

    Good luck!

(P.S. I LOOVE painting my nails for the holiday ahah it's so festive)

    [:
you can have gold nails and sketch a green mistletoe with two red balls dangling.- sounds so wrong lol

or you can draw one half of your nail red and the other green and put a sparkling star in the center.

or you can just write MERRY X-MAS -one letter for each finger- in various colors.
My nails are red with white and silver snowflakes. You could do Christmas themes.

    Winter / Christmas nail colours?

What are winter colours, I know green and red but what else?

Deep colours?Winter / Christmas nail colours?
Browns are making a comeback! Try to find a brown with hints of gold in it.

Obviously reds, greens, and whites as well. Green is a beautiful color to experiment with. It may be difficult to find one that matches your skin tone, but feel free to experiment. Maybe even coat over any plain color with gold or silver shimmer. It will add a festive touch to it!

Think: ORNAMENTS. You can pretty much pick anything.

Yes it is. You should never apply anything to the surface of a lightbulb the heat generated can burn the nail polish and make some pretty bad smells sometimes in fact the gas produced can be toaxic. Not to mention the potential fire hazardCan you paint Christmas lights with nail polish? Is it a fire hazard?

On the top of the leg you attached right before the bolt appeared in the tray you'll see two black hexagons. The first bolt goes on the left hexagon, the second bolt goes on the right hexagon. You use the flame and pixie dust like before to close them up.

How much money would you give your hair-dresser (as a gift) and nail-tech for Christmas?

I'm thinking $30, is that about right? How much money would you give your hair-dresser (as a gift) and nail-tech for Christmas?
Well, I know my hair-dresser and my nail tech. They are both my Aunts. So I give them about $50-60. But if you don't personally know these people, then I would say about $25.00 is enough(:How much money would you give your hair-dresser (as a gift) and nail-tech for Christmas?
    A big fat zero.

I do my own hair, because they can't even cut a simple straight even cut. I have to have them do it, 3 visits 3 times, that the manager finally came %26amp; do my hair. I actually went to work with un-even hair cut 2'; here.

I've done my hair most of the time, and when they see me, they give me a compliment. IMO, they have the worst hairstyles. They're always experimenting on each other's hair. Go figure!

OPI are the best brand when it comes to actually buying nail polish itself, but, speaking as a girl, I would say receiving a gift certificate for a manicure or pedicure is just about one of the best gifts you can get.

How much should I tip my stylist and nail tech for christmas?

I see my nail tech every 2 weeks faithfully. I see my stylist every 3 weeks for a wax and every 8 weeks for highlights and cut. I always tip at least 15-20%. I was thinking $20 and a small gift. I know they would both appreciate the cash more than a gift card. Anyone have a more creative or better idea? How much should I tip my stylist and nail tech for christmas?
Cash, cash and more cash. Your stylist and nail tech are working to support themselves and their families and live off of tips. Give them an extra 15% over what you would normally tip and a thank you card. They will appreciate you and will go out of their way to do an extra special job on your nails and hair. Trust. Both my sister and my neice do hair and nails and they need the money. How much should I tip my stylist and nail tech for christmas?
Very good questions, I was wondering the same thing for my nail tech and I'm going Friday. I never went this close to Christmas before so I didn't worry about it because I tip each time also.

They seem to have everything but time off.
I would go with money. It's what everyone wants. You never go wrong.

They aren't close friends or family and there's no way for you to know what they really would like.
Believe it or not, the general guidelines for gift-giving are up to the cost of one visit (I've heard that before, and found a link that I provided below). That should be fine for a nail tech - I don't have one, but I don't think the services are that expensive, and typically people go to a nail tech more often than to a hairdresser - but it seems a little steep for a hairdresser. (I go for a cut %26amp; color every 8 weeks, and it comes to $137/ visit before a tip, and I always tip a minimum of 20%. Yikes!)

Anyway...last year I visited my hairdresser a week and a half prior to Christmas, and I brought along a package with two dozen homemade Christmas cookies for her. She took one look at them, her mouth dropped open, declared them the best Christmas present she'd gotten and threw them in her cabinet so she wouldn't have to share them with everyone else! I visited her earlier this year (before I made Christmas cookies), so I made her a batch of homemade toffee (coated in nuts %26amp; very expensive chocolate) instead. When I told her I had her gift with me, she got all excited and asked if it was cookies again. She was even happier with the toffee (and still not inclined to share with her co-workers)! : D

My point: you don't have to spend a lot of money if you really know what your service provider would appreciate. If you have no idea (or yours isn't unmarried without children [mine is]), just give money - and I would say give more to the stylist than the nail tech since you see her nearly as often and for more expensive services.
I think for a person who you see regularly, the cost of one regular service is considered an appropriate Christmas tip.
If you always tip at least 15-20%, that is plenty. If you want to give something a little extra, either $10-$20 with a card is more than enough or a little gift, but not both.

I always make a string of lights. Put nail polish on each nail to make a background. Just one polain colour I usually use a creamy whitey colour.Put In a little light shape in each nail multi colour after the base is dry.then take black or dark green and unse a toothpick to draw a line on either side of the light. When you do that for all it looks like they are attached! Sorry no pics :(
Paint your nails a cute shade of a red that you guys like.

Use a toothpick to paint a white snowflake on your nails.

Not that hard to do and nice looking.
